To obtain your motorbike licence in QLD, you should do the following:
- Undertake a Head Start course (optional)
- Check you’re eligible for the Q-Ride Pre-Learner course
- Have your driver’s licence for at least 12 months
- Complete the Q-Ride Pre-Learner Course
- Undertake a 30-question knowledge test to obtain your learner’s licence
- Upgrade your licence online or at a TMR Service Centre
- Complete the Hazard Perception Test (HPT) within 90 days of obtaining your licence
- Hold your learner’s licence for 90 days and then undertake the Q-Ride Restricted (RE) Licence Course
- Practice your skills, road rides with supervisors and/or book in for private lessons for skills and road rules
- Undertake the Q-Ride Restricted (RE) Licence Course
- Upgrade your licence online or at a TMR service Centre
- Spend 2 years on your RE Licence
- Receive your R-class learner’s permit to ride an R-class motorcycle
- Book your Q-Ride Unrestricted (R) Course
- Upgrade your Licence online or at a TMR office
